Cognitive Computing

A research area of the Information Management Department at the Institute of Information Systems is Cognitive Computing. Cognitive Computing is a new era, which enables – based on different theories such as Connectivism, Computational Thinking, Intelligence Amplification Loop, Ontological Design and others – to adapt existing information systems to today’s requirements and therefore to enhance the interaction between humans and computer systems. Traditional computer systems are no longer able to process today’s big load of data, which is why more intelligent and smarter systems are gaining importance. Through the development and the distribution of adaptive hard- and software, the relevance of this research area is continuously increasing.

Our aim is to further develop the research in the area of Cognitive Computing in consideration of Soft Computing Methods and to apply them in the following projects:

More information about the different projects can be found on the respective websites. If you are interested in our research and would like to learn more about it or would consider a collaboration, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
